He did his undergraduate study in Chengdu Institute of Electronic Engineering and Masters study in Sichuan University. In 1985, he went to Sussex University in UK for his Doctoral study with the late Professor John Murrell FRS. After receiving his D. Phil. Degree, he joined the group of Prof. George Schatz at Northwestern University as a postdoctoral fellow in 1988. He started his independent career in 1990 at University of Toledo and moved to University of New Mexico in 1998, where he is now Distinguished Professor. He was elected Fellow of American Physics Society in 2013 and named a National Research Council Visiting Professor in Taiwan, ROC in 2014. He is a Senior Editor of J. Phys. Chem., the flagship journal of the Physical Chemistry division of the American Chemical Society. He has authored close to 400 papers in various fields in chemistry. |
