题 目:Self-Assembled Cage Receptors for Anion Recognition and Separation Abstract: Recent results from Custelcean’s group on self-assembled cages for recognition and separation of anions from competitive aqueous solutions will be presented. The quick and efficient self-assembly from simple building blocks replaces the laborious multi-step organic synthesis typically involved in the construction of traditional cage receptors. Selectivity is achieved by introduction of molecular recognition elements into the building units, and through precise spatial organization of binding groups guided by computer-aided design. Similar to natural receptors, these cages completely sequester the anions from the aqueous solvent by encapsulation inside cavities lined with complementary hydrogen-bonding groups. These structurally well-defined cavities impart strong discrimination among anions based on shape, size, and charge recognition. Anion separation can then be achieved by extraction of the cages into an organic phase, or by selective crystallization. 欢迎参加! |
